About the Art
Using cut, mirrored, stained and clear glass, in concert with copper, silver and gold wire, semiprecious and decorative beads, polished and natural stones, faux jewels and various crystals, Mimi Breeden creates art that is interesting, beautiful and utterly unique. Whether a piece has been commissioned for a specific location or event or is simply the result of creative imagination, each is an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind objet d'art that draws the eye back again and again.
About the Artist
Mimi Breeden is a contemporary southern folk artist who transforms ordinary objects into glittering utilitarian and display artwork. Born in North Carolina and raised in Atlanta, Mimi has a degree in English and French from Florida State University and an MBA from Georgia State University. A 20+ year employee of SunTrust Bank, she is the Managing Director of the Institutional Trust line of business (no kidding!).
Mimi's art avocation is a direct result of her lifelong fascination with all that glitters. Her creations include musical instruments, sports equipment, cowboy boots, mirrors, lamps and lampshades. Mimi's shades are equally stunning whether the light is off or on, given the beauty and varying translucency of her materials.
Mimi lives in Atlanta with her husband, Bruce. Her work may be seen by appointment. Please contact her at: mimi@MBreedenDesigns.com
